About
Principal’s Welcome

Dear reader, a very warm welcome to St Peter’s Catholic College and thank you for taking the time to visit us.
St Peter’s is situated on the shores of Tuggerah Lake, and we are nestled amongst 16 hectares of magnificent Darkinung Land. Prior to being St Peter’s, the College was made up of two schools: Mater Dei and Corpus Christi both of which have a rich history on the Central Coast.
The teachings of our patron saint are at the forefront of all we do. They help us encourage our young people to live a full life, a life of courage, hope, love, compassion and mercy. Our motto ‘Live as a Disciple of Christ’ (‘Vive ut discipulus Christi’) is at the heart of everything we do, and our five Guiding Principles challenge us to pursue what is right and just. The fulfilment of our mission to ‘bring young men and women to the fullness of life’ sits alongside our commitment to each and every one of them.
In accordance with his teachings, staff at St Peter’s are called to be “shepherds of God’s flock” (1 Peter 5:2). No child at the College is deemed a statistic, instead, we share in the belief that each child is made in the image of God and each child’s life has purpose. As a collective, we are committed to fostering an environment where each young person can grow as a unique individual and ‘be themselves with the Lord.’ (Peter)
Irish writer W.B. Yeats reminds us that “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire” and to achieve this, we place a high value on offering our young men and women an exceptional learning experience. Collectively, we want them to be better and do better.
Whether your child’s talent or strength lies within the academic sphere, the sporting field, the creative and design space or in the performing arts, our expert staff insist they strive for excellence. At the same time, we are committed to creating a robust, rich, challenging and inclusive curriculum that draws out the innate sense of wonder and curiosity that lies within young people. By offering a holistic education, your child can strive for greatness in one or many facets of the College.
The wellbeing of a child is always at the heart of the work we do. St Peter’s words ‘cast all your anxieties onto Him, because He cares for you’ (1 Peter 5:7) is central to our pastoral care. Wellbeing and learning at the College are inseparable and we have a dedicated Middle Leadership team who join forces to ensure they work in harmony.
To equip our young people for a life beyond the College gates, schools must be outward facing. Regardless of a child’s future career choice, schools must strive to move beyond the traditional structure of education and provide pathways that are meaningful and relevant. The College prides itself in doing this. We pride ourselves in not working in isolation and we pride ourselves in building strong relationships with families, our alumni, the parish, tertiary institutions and local industries to provide our young men and women with life- giving and life changing experiences.
Should you choose St Peter’s as the educational setting for your child; a setting where they will be nurtured, challenged and cared for, then I invite you to explore our website to see what lies in store for their future.

When families entrust their child into our care, they entrust them into a community that is committed to forming the whole child; the academic, social, emotional and spiritual.
