🎓 HSC Pathway
A traditional academic pathway supporting students working towards an ATAR and university study, with access to an extensive range of ATAR courses to suit diverse interests and strengths.

📘 HSC Plus Pathway
A flexible and engaging option that blends HSC study with VET courses, allowing students to explore interests while gaining practical skills.

St Peter’s Catholic College offers the largest range of VET courses in the Catholic Schools Broken Bay Diocese, delivering 10 VET frameworks – including full qualifications and Statements of Attainment, with many ATAR‑eligible options.

Students can also undertake School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs), providing real-world experience while remaining connected to school life.

🌏 Horizon Pathway (Non-HSC)
A new, groundbreaking pathway designed and exclusive to Catholic Schools Broken Bay, Horizon is a highly personalised, student-centred pathway designed around individual passions and career goals. With a strong focus on real-world learning, industry experiences, and VET opportunities, students can also access SBATs, building meaningful skills for life beyond school.

No matter the pathway, our focus is clear: to support every student to thrive, remain engaged in their learning, and transition confidently into university, further training, or the workforce.

Choosing subjects is more than a decision—it’s a step toward each student’s future. We feel privileged to walk alongside them on this journey.

Youth Ministry:

Our Youth Ministry is led by an experienced teacher who works with the students to provide school-based faith formation and youth ministry opportunities, linking them to the wider Catholic community. The Youth Minister collaborates with other YMs, local parishes and Catholic Youth Broken Bat to provide a range of voluntary activities including attendance at Diocesan functions, national and international youth festivals. The Youth Minister is also responsible for the delivery of a Certificate II in Active Volunteering (VET).

EMPOWERING LEARNER ENGAGEMENT

Educating our future generations is the responsibility of the entire community, not just schools.

Successful schools build partnerships in order to provide opportunities and the best outcomes for students (Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), 2012, p. 18). Our community partnerships and their resources effectively support and empower positive engagement, enrichment and excellence for learning and wellbeing and significant outcomes for our young people. Our extensive partnerships help students access resources outside the school and provide a connection with industry and professional expertise.

Our strong partnerships with community groups, local government, small local businesses and educational institutions provide professional development for staff, vocational offerings and work placements for students, creative production and opportunities for exhibitions and performance, health and fitness programs for students, environmental projects and a wide variety of other expertise.

St Peter’s partnerships provide opportunities for parent collaboration, avenues for student voice, opportunities for cross generational learning and they allow the curriculum to be more easily connected to real-world experiences.

WorldSkills: VET Competition

St Peter’s is committed to the education of High Potential and Gifted (HPG) students. We provide rich opportunities for students identified across the intellectual, social-emotional, and physical domains.

Our HPG Program identifies students with high potential or giftedness across one or more domains and places them with like-minded students so that their learning is relevant, extended and differentiated to meet them at their current level of challenge.

Our HPG Teachers are specially trained, highly experienced, and passionate about providing specific adjustments or interventions such as curriculum compaction, furthering depth and

complexity, programming with a conceptual framework for abstraction, and potential acceleration while ensuring that student social and emotional wellbeing is nurtured.

Students identified as Twice Exceptional are Case Managed in collaboration with the Learning Diversity Team so that diagnosed neurodivergence and/or disability is not a barrier for a High Potential or Gifted student in them reaching their potential.

ILP (Integrated Learning Projects) is a dynamic, skills based program offered to all students in Year 7 and 8. Participation in a broad range of innovative projects, helps students to develop the skills needed to be successful learners, today and into the future. There is a particular focus on how the Guiding Principles of Live as a Disciple of Christ, Embracing Learning, Pursuing Excellence, Showing Respect and Caring for self and others, are lived out through our interests and passions.

For two hours each week in Year 7, ILP students meet with their Project Leader to develop Growth Projects that they have elected. These projects provide exciting opportunities for our junior students to hone their skills, to make new friends and to develop teamwork.

At St Peter’s, we want our students to follow their passions, to engage enthusiastically with their learning, and to be challenged by new and exciting learning opportunities. ILP is but one place this can happen.

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY

At St Peter’s we believe each member of our community is a leader. To support this concept our range of Enrichment and Extension Programs provide those leadership opportunities. Through our structured Student Leadership and Camps Program students can further extend themselves.

Our Student Leadership Program provides roles as:

Through our extensive Camp Program, students develop resilience as they challenge and extend themselves outside the ‘classroom’.

RESILIENCE and WELLBEING

With over 40 different sports and fitness opportunities we have one of the most extensive Fitness and Sport Programs in the State.  This Program caters for the diverse needs of all our students and supports our Vision to “promote resilience and wellbeing”, through excellence, enrichment, and extension.

Students are provided the opportunity to represent  in a wide variety of sports at various levels:
