Supporting the whole student-athlete
RISE brings sporting development and education together. At St Peter’s, students are supported to grow as players and as people, developing the skills, knowledge and habits that help them strive for excellence both on and off the field.
With specialised development built into the College timetable, students can pursue their passion for rugby league within a supportive learning environment.
What students experience
Time to train. Tools to grow.
Students participate in six hours of specialised development each fortnight, combining practical training with learning that supports their development as student-athletes.
- Skills-based workshops Develop rugby league skills through focused practical sessions.
- Strength and conditioning Build physical performance through dedicated training.
- Theory-based tutorials Develop the knowledge and tools to support success as a student-athlete.
The foundations of RISE
Four values. Growth on and off the field.
RISE is built around four core values that underpin the program’s focus on developing well-rounded student-athletes.
Together, these values support students to develop their sporting abilities and personal character while striving for excellence in their learning and sport.
Opportunities beyond playing
More ways to contribute to sport
In addition to regular training, students have opportunities to gain certifications in:
- Refereeing
- Sports training
- Coaching
These opportunities help students broaden their involvement in sport and make a positive contribution to their clubs and the wider community.
