DANCE // ST PETER’S TROUPE SHINE BRIGHT! What an DANCE // ST PETER’S TROUPE SHINE BRIGHT!

What an incredible school holidays for our Dance Troupe!

At The Movement Dance Competition, our talented dancers shone bright, placing:
🥇 1st in Contemporary
🥉 3rd in Jazz
🤩 4th in Lyrical

Then on Saturday 25 July, our Jazz Dance Troupe headed to Hurstville for the Australian Dance Festival Qualifiers. After workshops with industry professionals, they competed in the Resonate Wild Card Qualifier — and qualified for the Australian Dance Festival Live Show Finals! They’ll now perform alongside some of the best school dance teams in the country.

These results are a true testament to the dedication, early morning rehearsals and lunchtime sacrifices our dancers make every week. We are so proud of every single one of them and can’t wait to cheer them on in the finals this September! 🙌

These experiences highlight the outstanding opportunities available to students at our College, and the incredibly skilled teaching staff that guide them 🤩 A huge thank you to Ms Nakhoul, Mrs Brook, Ms Issa, Mrs Bradstreet and Mrs Lyons for your ongoing support, time and encouragement. Your commitment means everything 🫶
ILP CREATIVE WRITING // A SPOOK-TACULAR ACHIEVEMEN ILP CREATIVE WRITING // A SPOOK-TACULAR ACHIEVEMENT!

Congratulations to Audrey M (Year 7), who has been shortlisted in the KSP Spooky Story Competition through her ILP Creative Writing studies!

Being shortlisted means Audrey’s story will be published in the printed KSP Spooky Story Anthology, produced by Dragonfly Publishing—an incredible accomplishment for a young writer.

Audrey’s success is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through our Integrated Learning Projects (ILP) Program. Available to all Year 7 and 8 students, ILP provides opportunities for students to pursue their passions, develop new skills, collaborate with others, and embrace exciting learning challenges.

With the competition winners and placegetters to be announced in September, we wish Audrey the very best of luck. In the meantime, her success has inspired many of our other creative writers, who are now eagerly crafting their own spooky tales!

Please join us in congratulating Audrey on this outstanding achievement! 👏✍️📖

PATHWAYS & PARTNERSHIPS // VET HOSPITALITY INDUSTR PATHWAYS & PARTNERSHIPS // VET HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY IMMERSION

Our Year 11 VET Hospitality students recently enjoyed an inspiring industry visit to Baker Street, Gosford, where Chef Dan provided a firsthand look at the skill, teamwork and dedication required to deliver exceptional hospitality experiences.

Students gained valuable insight into both front and back-of-house operations, learning how collaboration, communication and professionalism come together in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Organised by our Pathways Lead in partnership with the VET Faculty, the excursion helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry practice, giving students a deeper understanding of the exciting career opportunities available in the hospitality sector.

A big thank you to Chef Dan and the Baker Street team for sharing their expertise and supporting the development of our future hospitality professionals.

KARATE SISTER'S MAKING THEIR MARK ON THE WORLD STA KARATE SISTER'S MAKING THEIR MARK ON THE WORLD STAGE

St Peter’s is incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of sisters Molly and Ruby E, whose dedication, perseverance and passion for karate continue to inspire our school community.

Molly and Ruby, students at St Peter’s, have been practising karate for more than 10 years and are highly accomplished Kumite (sparring) athletes. Their commitment to the sport sees them train an impressive 10–12 hours each week in both the dojo and gym, while also giving back to the karate community by mentoring and supporting younger students.

Both sisters are selected members of the Australian National Karate Team, have proudly represented NSW for four consecutive years, and are now in their second year on the national squad.

Recently, the sisters travelled to Manila, Philippines, to compete in the prestigious World Karate Federation Youth League event. Demonstrating exceptional skill and determination, both athletes progressed to the quarter-finals in their respective divisions. Following her strong performance, Ruby is now ranked 36th in the world in her division.

After just a week of recovery, Molly and Ruby were back in action at the New Zealand Open in Auckland. Ruby earned an impressive bronze medal, while Molly once again showcased her talent by reaching the quarter-final stage of the competition.

The sisters have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming National Championships in Hobart, where they will once again compete against Australia’s best athletes.

Congratulations, Molly and Ruby, on your remarkable achievements. We wish you every success as you continue your karate journey and proudly represent St Peter’s, NSW and Australia on the national and international stage! 🇦🇺🥉👏
